Rescued migrants arrive in Palermo aboard King Jacob

Around one hundred migrants arrived in the Italian city of Palermo on board the King Jacob merchant vessel on April 15, 2015 after a rescue mission in the Strait of Sicily.
Italian media reported that there were children and pregnant women amongst the migrants rescued, many of whom were from Eritrea, Somalia and Syria. Local authorities and NGOs are providing shelter and assistance in Palermo to the refugees.
